BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that fictitious cases are being filed against the leaders and activists of their party to keep themselves busy with handling cases.

“They (govt) have started filing fictitious case (against opposition men). They are filing false cases in the name of cocktail explosion. The government has started staging its old drama as BNP remains busy dealing with the cases so that they (govt) can carry on their activities,” he said.

The BNP leader came up with the statement while addressing a seminar arranged by Nagorik Oikya, at the Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Wednesday.

In his speech, Mirza Fakhrul also alleged that the government is staging drama of militancy and fire terror in a bid to divert the opposition’s movement to elsewhere.

“Motive of the new drama of snatching away militants (from court premises) is that the government wants to divert main demand of people to elsewhere,” he said.
