RANGPUR: The ‘Police Blood Bank Rangpur’ was inaugurated at Rangpur District Police Hospital in the city on Tuesday, reports BSS.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rangpur Range Police Mohd Abdul Alim Mahmud inaugurated the blood bank in a colorful function arranged on the hospital premises as the chief guest.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Madhusudan Roy (promoted to the post of Superintendent of Police), Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operations) Syed Mohammad Farhad (promoted to the post of Superintendent of Police) and Physician of Police Hospital Rangpur Dr. Abu Sayeed Mahmud were present.
A number of police members and healthy adults voluntarily donated blood on the launching day of the blood bank.
Speaking on the occasion, the DIG said, “With the auspicious start of the Police Blood Bank Rangpur, police members and their families need no more despair when they need blood urgently as the blood bank will meet that demand.”
He said any healthy adult and police member can donate blood voluntarily at the Police Blood Bank Rangpur.
