Bari Siddiqui’s 68th birth anniv today

Today is the 68th birth anniversary of eminent singer and flutist Bari Siddiqui. To mark the day, Bari Siddiqui Smriti Parishad will hold a discussion and cultural programme at Central Kochi Kachar Mela Milonayoton in the capital’s Shegun Bangicha area this evening.

Noted singers of the country, will perform at cultural function.

Bari Siddiqui was a singer, lyricist, flutist and folk musician of the country.

He made his first appearance on television in 1995 through a musical programme named ‘Ronger Baroi’ produced by eminent writer Humayun Ahmed.

Afterwards, he came to the mainstream by singing and directing playback songs in Humayun Ahmed’s film ‘Srabon Megher Din’. 

Popular song of Bari Siddiqui are ‘Pubali Batase’, ‘Amar Gaye Jato Dukkho Soy’, ‘Lilua Batase’, ‘Amar Mando Swavab’, ‘Din Ratrir Hoyna Milan’, ‘Moner Dukkho’, ‘Rajani Hoisna Abasan’ and ‘Shuyachan Pakhi’.

The noted singer breathed his last in Dhaka on November 24 in 2017.
