RAJSHAHI: A two-day international conference titled ‘International Conference on Issues and Discourses Around Liberal Arts and Humanities’ has started at Rajshahi University on Sunday.
The university Vice-Chancellor Professor Golam Sabbir Sattar inaugurated the conference as chief guest at Senate building of the university in the morning.
Even the new researchers will be more stimulated as a result of the interaction of domestics and foreign researchers. As a result, advanced research will be promoted, the VC added.
The Vice-Chancellor Professor Sanjay Pratab Singh of Assam Royal Global University in India and the Pro-Vice-Chancellors of Rajshahi University Professor Sultan-ul Islam and Professor Humayun Kabir were the special guests at the conference.
Arts Faculty dean Professor Fazlur Haque presided over the conference. Professor Saugata Bhaduri of Jawaharlal Nehru University of India was the keynote speaker at the inaugural session.
The faculty of arts has organized the international conference for the second time. This year, teachers and researchers from Bangladesh, America, France, India, Iran, Nepal, Pakistan, Turkey and Tajikistan participated in the conference.
According to the organising convenor, local and foreign researchers are presenting their articles. A total of 223 essays have been selected in Bengali, English, Arabic, Persian and Urdu languages. 27 academic sessions of this two-day conference will be going on in 7 venues of the university till November 14.
All of them are creating opportunities for advanced research. Moreover, this conference will play a role in keeping the university ahead in the world ranking, he added.
