The Bangladesh team management will take a final call regarding in-form batsman Liton Das’s availability in their last ICC T20 World Cup match against Pakistan on match day morning, an official informed on Saturday.
The match is scheduled to be held at Adelaide Oval today.
The right-hander was seen struggling with his running and he was also run out in the next ball of the same over. Bangladesh lost momentum since then and conceded a five-run defeat in the D/L Method.
“Liton is doing excellent. Today (on Saturday) he didn’t attend the optional practice session to get more rest before the next match. Tomorrow we will assess his situation. I think he will be alright to play the game,” BCB’s chief physician Debashis Chowdhury told The Daily Sun during Bangladesh’s practice session at Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide on Saturday.
Liton has been the second-highest run-getter for Bangladesh after Najmul Hossain Shanto (126 runs) in the ongoing meet as he scored 117 runs in four innings with a strike rate of 144.44 and Bangladesh will be desperately looking to get his service in the big match against Pakistan.
