Bangladesh Archery Federation revised the allowance structure of the national archers, but the increased amount of the allowance will get only the top two-ranked archers of the National Ranking Open Tournaments.

The federation said in a press release on Wednesday that the top two-ranked archers of the recently-concluded National Ranking Open Tournament-4, in both divisions – recurve singles and compound singles, will get Tk 7000 and Tk 5000 per month as an allowance until the next year’s ranking tournament.

This year, Mishad Pradhan and Abdur Rahman Alif (men’s recurve singles), Diya Siddique and Famida Sultana Nisha (women’s recurve singles), Tapu Roy and Md Ashikuzzaman (men’s compound singles), Puspita Zaman and Rokshana Akter (women’s compound singles) will get the increased amount of allowance as they clinched top two positions in their respective events.

Earlier, the country’s celebrated archer Ruman Shana complained to The Daily Sun in an interview in August that the federation pays archers Tk 3000 each per month.
