The hosts and former champions Bangladesh will start their campaign in the 4th SAFF U-15 SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship against Bhutan in the opening match today at the Bir Sherestha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur at 4:30pm.

Ahead of the match, Bangladesh head coach Golam Rabbani Choton said that their first purpose would be to find players for the national women’s team through this competition.

“Our first purpose is to find successors of Sabina-Krishna-Sanjida (national women’s team) through this competition. We are hosts and former champions; so we also want to win the title. But it will be our second purpose,” Choton told the reporters in a press conference at BFF house on Monday.

Defending champions India are not taking part in this age-competition competition, so only three teams – Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh – will compete in this year.

Bangladesh will play against Nepal on November 5 and 11 and Bhutan on November 7, all at the same venue.

Bhutan head coach Ngawong Yangchan said that her players for the first time would participate in international competition, so they are just waiting for their debuts.

Besides, Nepal head coach Bhagwati Rana Magar said they are determined to return home with the title.

“We want to win all matches, we want to return home with the title,” she said.
