Bangladesh Football Federation projected a budget deficit of Tk 7,84,50000 for the 2022-2023 fiscal year in its Annual General Meeting 2022 which was held at a city hotel in the capital on Saturday.

Meanwhile, BFF proposed a budget of Tk 49,34,00000 with an approximate revenue of Tk 41,49,50000 for next fiscal year.

BFF president Kazi Salahuddin stated nothing about this deficit budget; rather he informed that the budget was passed peacefully.

“The budget was peacefully passed in the AGM,” Salahuddin told the reporters after the AGM.

The Daily Sun earlier on October 23 wrote that BFF would face a budget deficit of approximately Tk 7.50 crore for the next fiscal year.

However, the AGM also approved the previous year’s expenditure audit report of Tk 33, 79,41, 577 crore for the fiscal year 2021-2022 with projected income of Tk 28,80,08, 293 crore.

Expressing dissatisfaction over District Football Associations, the BFF chief said that arranging money to run the domestic leagues is the respective DFA’s responsibility but they only demand money from the BFF instead of searching out other sources of funds.

“Districts (DFA organisers) just want money from us. They should find out other sources of funds to run the leagues, instead of looking at us (BFF) for money. I cannot do your job, you cannot do mine,” he said.

“I want to specify that the BFF is not directed by FIFA to run any leagues. But they (DFA) do not want to run the leagues and look at us when we would provide money to them. Whenever I got money, I gave it to them. Last time, I gave them 50 percent of what I got from the government. If I don’t have money, I will give them from where?” he concluded.
