The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Tuesday canceled a High Court order that validated the candidacy of Alabox Titu and directed the Election Commission to fix a new schedule to hold the Noakhali Zila Parishad polls, reports UNB.
A bench of five Justices led by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique passed the order.
Advocate Ruhul Kuddus said as the bench canceled the High Court order, the candidacy of his client Titu has also been canceled.
On September 18, Noakhali district returning officer rejected the nomination of Titu on allegation of loan default.
Later Titu appealed to Chattogram Deputy Commissioner’s office against the order which was rejected.
