The National Museum of Science and Technology (NMST) has taken an initiative for people of different backgrounds including students outside the capital to watch different objects in the solar system through telescopes to broaden their knowledge of the outer space.

As part of the initiative, the authorities of the museum arranged a programme at Lama Upazila in Bandarban on October 14 and Panchagarh on October 19 and 20.

About 1,000 students and other viewers participated in the event. They were very happy to observe the planets.

Director General (DG) of the museum Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said, “The students and other viewers were pleased, as they observed Saturn, which is about 193.93 crore miles off the earth and Jupiter, which is about 60 crore miles away.”
