edotco Group CEO said they will continue to work as a key infrastructure partner of the government in its vision towards building nationwide connectivity in one of the key markets.

edotco Group Sdn. Bhd. (edotco) Director and Group Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Adlan Ahmad Tajudin arrived in Dhaka from Kuala Lumpur for his first official visit to Bangladesh earlier this week.

The core agenda of Adlan Tajudin's visit was to get a first-hand perspective of the fastest-growing markets in Asia and to gain insight into how Bangladesh contributes to Asia's resilience, dynamism, and growth.

As part of his work visit to Dhaka, he attended key engagement meetings with BTRC officials, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), edotco's clients, and other industry stakeholders.

In his engagement with the Telecom and Technology Reporters' Network bangladesh (TRNB), Adlan Tajudin discussed how telecom infrastructure is crucial to accelerating the country's digital economy.

The impact of the pandemic has significantly increased the demand for equitable connectivity. He further explained that since its presence in Bangladesh, edotco has erected more than 14,700 sites to help connect the unconnected and under-connected people in the country.

As an independent tower company, edotco continues to advocate for improved infrastructure sharing amongst the MNOs to reduce cost and the impact on carbon footprint, enable faster rollout, and accelerate network access to wider communities.

edotco is committed to driving towards sustainable, green initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint by continuously striving to innovate and improve tower-land optimisation, sustainable environment-friendly structure, and future readiness (5G).

Adlan Tajudin said, "Bangladesh is one of the key markets for edotco Group. Similar to other countries we are present, we view our role as a key infrastructure partner to the government and businesses to help accelerate access to digital connectivity nationwide."

"We also recognise our talent in Bangladesh and have established a Centre for Design Excellence (CoDE) here in Bangladesh, serving as an innovation research centre for our clients in Bangladesh and the rest of our footprint markets across the Group."

"With the impending 5G network on the horizon, we will continue to play our role to support the industry and the government with our expertise, knowledge and learnings we gained from other countries to help speed up the rollout," he said.

"As we forge stronger connections and continue to harness Bangladesh's immense potential, we look forward to creating avenues for greater collaboration – locally, regionally, and globally."

Adlan Tajudin was appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer of edotco Group in November 2020, with over 17 years of experience in the telecommunications field. Prior to his current role, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and Director of PT XL Axiata Tbk (Indonesia).

Since the beginning of its journey, edotco has continued to lead new developments in the telecoms industry of Bangladesh while fostering a sustainable telecommunications industry with sustainable design excellence, innovations, and infrastructure sharing.

Over the years, it brought many unique and environment-friendly designs to fulfil connectivity demands, such as bamboo towers, Carbon towers, Low-Cost Structures, SPC towers, and Hybrid Solar wind towers.

By providing the right sharable infrastructure, it is connecting the unconnected and under-connected communities across the nation. Today, edotco Bangladesh has provided job opportunities to more than 400 people nationwide.

In realising the country's digital vision, edotco partnered with Dhaka, Sylhet, and Chittagong City corporation to deploy smart street furniture that is 5G ready and enabled to provide uninterrupted network connectivity and heavy data flow in the dense urban areas for guaranteeing 5G infra readiness.

More importantly, to ensure flawless network connectivity, edotco has pledged to work with stakeholders to create a sustainable telecom ecosystem by deploying the right sharable infrastructures across the country.
