A young girl has allegedly been gang-raped at Konapara in the capital’s Demra area on Sunday.

The victim is now at one-stop crisis centre (OCC) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for medical tests. A relative of the victim said the girl came to her elder brother’s house in Kadamtali around 15 days ago.

On Sunday afternoon, the victim went to a fair at Konapara when she had a meeting with her brother-in-law Selim (cousin’s husband) and his friend Alam.

The duo allegedly entertained her with cold drinks and after drinking it, the girl became unconscious.

Later, they took the victim to a nearby Kashban (catkin) at around 5:00pm and raped her, the relative added. On receiving information, a team of patrol police rescued her from the spot and sent her to DMCH.

Dr Bilkis Begum, coordinator of OCC at DMCH, said that the young girl would go under a forensic test today.

Quoting the victim, the doctor said Selim and Alam raped the girl after making her unconscious. Shafiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC)   of Demra Police Station, told the Daily Sun that we have sent the victim to the OCC of DMCH. We will take a decision after getting medical report,” he said.

However, no case was filed till filing of this report at around 6:00pm.
