National Museum of Science and Technology (NMST) Director General Mohammad Munir Chowdhury has urged the teachers to be morally strong.

“Teachers must teach students with strict discipline. Mobile phone addiction is bringing a disaster in education system. Teaching is being disrupted as some teachers use mobile phone in the classrooms,” he said.

The NMST Director came up with the appeal while addressing two separate programmes of teachers at Chattogram Mohila College and Ispahani School and College in Chattogram on Monday.

Munir Chowdhury said despite enjoying the benefits of developed technology, improved communication system and satisfactory salary and allowances, if any teacher shows negligence in teaching, it cannot be accepted.

He urged teachers to practice moral behaviour in their life so that students can learn from them.

Earlier, Munir Chowdhury distributed Tk10,00,000 to four educational institutions on behalf of NMST to procure science materials.
