JAMALPUR: Dr Khursheduzzaman (Mishri Mia) Kalyan Trust has provided free eye treatment over 1,400 patients in Islampur Upazila of Jamalpur district.

Among them, 483 patients have been selected for cataracts, enlarged muscles and eye tract infections operations.

The free Eye Camp was held on Friday and Saturday at Degreechar High School grounds in Islampur. A four-member medical team of experienced doctors led by Ophthalmologist Dr Abdul Gaffar conducted this camp. At that time patients were given primary eye treatment and eye scanning.

The inauguration ceremony presided by SM Shahinuzzaman, Trustee of Dr Khursheduzzaman (Mishri Mia) Kalyan Trust Board. He said, ‘Trust has been working since the beginning of this year with the aim of eliminating the eye problems of the people of Islampur. The trust has so far provided necessary eye care services to around eight thousand patients through the continuously organised eye camps. About 500 patients with cataracts, enlarged muscles and eye tract infections diagnosed at eye camp will soon be operated free of cost.

Former Joint Secretary Dr Shahid Motahar Hossain, Islampur Upazila Parishad Chairman SM Jamal Abdun Nasher, Upazila Executive Officer Tanveer Hasan Ruman and others also spoke on the occasion.

Dr Khursheduzzaman (Mishri Mia) Kalyan Trust is always working for the people of Islampur where he extended his helping hand wherever he saw the suffering of people in the area, the speakers said.
