Bangladesh national cricket team will leave Dhaka for New Zealand tonight to take part in a tri-nation T20I series also involving the hosts and Pakistan ahead of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.
The Tigers will depart at 11:55pm (BST) from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.
Bangladesh will begin their tri-nation series campaign against Pakistan on October 7 before they take on New Zealand on October 9 in their second match.
The Tigers will then face the same opponents on October 12 and Pakistan on the following day in their remaining matches of the double-league format tournament.
The Top two teams from the league will progress to the final which will be held on October 14. Hagley Oval in Christchurch will host all the matches of the tri-series.
Bangladesh earlier got back to winning form after they beat UAE by a 2-0 margin in the recently-concluded two-match T20I series in UAE.
After winning the opening game by a narrow seven-run margin on Sunday, Bangladesh demonstrated a dominating performance in the second game and won the match by 32 runs on Tuesday to complete a clean sweep against the hosts.
According to the sources, some of the cricketers complained regarding Nafees after returning from the Zimbabwe tour. Some of the cricketers even complained to the team director Khaled Mahmud.
Media Manager Rabeed Imam will act as the Logistics Manager’s duty as well as his regular job for the upcoming two tournaments.
After the completion of the tri-series, Bangladesh will travel to Australia to take part in the upcoming eighth edition of the ICC T20 World Cup.
The Tigers will face Afghanistan in their first warm-up game on October 17 before they take on South Africa in their last practice game on October 19, both at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.
Bangladesh will face the runners-up of Group A in their opening Super 12 match of the main tournament on October 24 in Hobart.
They will then face South Africa and Group B champions on October 27 and 30 respectively in Sydney and Brisbane.
Bangladesh will play against India on November 2 in Adelaide while they will face Pakistan in their last Super 12 match at the same venue on November 6.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals while the final of the mega event will take place on November 13 in Melbourne.
