CCCI signs MoU with UK’s business assoc
CCCI Senior Vice-President Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin and Portsmouth Bangladesh Business Association Chairman Raja Ali exchange documents after assigning an MoU at the World Trade Centre in the city’s Agrabad area on Saturday.

CHATTOGRAM: The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Portsmouth Bangladesh Business Association of the United Kingdom on bilateral cooperation, information and experience exchange between the both parties.

The MoU was signed at the World Trade Centre in the city’s Agrabad area on Saturday.

Addressing the signing ceremony, CCCI Senior Vice President Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin said 90 percent of the country’s export-import activities are conducted through the premier seaport situated in Chattogram.

Besides, the biggest economic zone of the country ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh MujibShilpa Nagar’ and ‘One Town Two City’ project through Bangabandhu Tunnel are being developed there. He called upon the traders of the United Kingdom to invest in Chattogram utilising the geographical benefit.

The business leader also said that the MoU will play an imperative role to strengthen bilateral economic ties between the both countries.

Portsmouth Bangladesh Business Association Chairman Raja Ali said both the countries share similarities due to the advantage of using port.

He also called upon the Bangladeshi traders to invest in Portsmouth so that they can utilise the open port system facility there.
