Two held with stolen diesel

Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) members arrested two oil smugglers and seized 22,000 litres of stolen diesel from Muktarpur area in Munshiganj on Saturday.

The arrested are Md JalilSardar, 42 and Md Tarek Rahman, 19.

Lieutenant Commander Khandaker Munif Taki, media officer of the BCG Headquarters, said on the basis of secret information, BCG Station Pagla conducted a special operation in the area adjacent to Muktarpur Shah Cement Factory in Munshiganj district at around 3:00 am.

During the operation, two oil smugglers were arrested along with two engine powered steel body trawlers, one diesel oil tanker and approximately 22,000 liters of  stolen diesel were seized, he added.

Later the seized stolen diesel, trawlers, diesel oil tanker and arrested persons were handed over to MunshiganjSadar Police Station for legal action.
