One held with 15 gold bars in Jashore

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) nabbed a person along with 15 gold bars worth around Tk 1.25 crore at Sarsha Border in Jashore on Tuesday.

The arrestee is identified as Jalal Uddin, 35, son of Ali Kadam from Putkhali Village under Benapole Police Station.

Acting on a tip-off, a special team of BGB headquarters raided Gogo Bazaar area at 11.30 am, detained Jalal Uddin and recovered 15 gold bars weighing 1.652 kilogram from his motorcycle, said Khulna 21 BGB Battalion Commander Lt Col Mohammad Tanvir Rahman.

He also said BGB has intensified patrol along the border areas to check gold smuggling.
