Two varsity students allegedly committed suicide in Dhaka and Mymensingh cities on Saturday night and early on Sunday.
One allegedly killed himself after returning from a viva voce test, while another is suspected to have committed suicide over a love affair.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead.
Mohammad Ansary, the maternal uncle of the youth, said that their twins—Tanvir and Tanjil—were living with his family as their parents were living abroad.
Tanvir returned to the residence after appearing at a viva voce for a job at about 3:30 pm on Saturday.
He was seen in his room. He locked the door from inside around 6:30 p.m. When he was called, he did not respond.
Around 12:45 am, they broke open the door and found him hanging from a ceiling fan, said Ansary.
In another incident In Mymensingh city, police recovered the body of Amit Kumar Sutradhar, 25, from a private hostel at Sankipara in Kotwali on Saturday evening.
The deceased was a master’s student in Physics Department at Ananda Mohan College. He was the son of Anil Kumar Sutradhar and Suchitra Rani of Jamirakanda village at Dewanganj in Jamalpur.
Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station Shah Kamal Akanda said that Amit was taking preparation for jobs staying in the hostel.
From Friday night, the family members of the victim could not contact him over the phone.
Later, a relative of the deceased came to the hostel and found the door of his room closed from the inside.
After not getting a response despite knocking at the door, again and again, the relative looked through the window and found him hanging.
Then, police were informed of the matter. The body was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
The OC said that he might have committed suicide for love affairs as police found a status on his facebook timeline that indicated the affairs with a girl.
