Bangladesh has been elected as the vice-president of International Association of Police Academies (INTERPA).
The announcement was made at the inaugural ceremony of a three-day 11th INTERPA annual conference at a city hotel on Monday, says a press release signed by Assistant Inspector General (media and public relations) of police Md Kamruzzaman on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the delegates of different countries who participated in the INTERPA conference visited the Jatiya Sangsad, Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi-32 and Bangladesh Police Liberation War Museum.
They also paid tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing floral wreath at his portrait at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum.
A total of 127 senior police officers of 44 countries joined the 11th conference with a theme ‘Digitalisation of Policing.’
Police Staff College Bangladesh (PSC) organised the conference.
At present 63 countries are the members of the INTERPA of which headquarters is located in Turkey.
