2 business firms fined Tk 11,000 in Bogura

BOGURA: A team of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP), in a drive, realized Taka 11,000 as fine from the owners of two business establishments at Ranbagha Bazar in Nandigram upazila of the district on Saturday, reports BSS.

Sources concerned said that the team, led by Assistant Director of the DNCRP, Bogura Iftekharul Alam, conducted the drive at Zia Hotel and Restaurant in the area and fined Taka 10,000 for making food in unhygienic environment.

During the time, the team also raided at Muntaha Pharmacy and fined it Taka one thousand for selling of date expired medicines.

The two business establishments were fined Taka 11,000 for different charges and violation of the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.

Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted the operation team.

As part of the DNCPR authorities, this kind of drives would be continued in the district, Iftekharul Alam added.
