Polytechnic students hold protest in Barishal

BARISHAL: The students of all polytechnic institutes in Barishal district protested against the proposal of converting the 4-year diploma course into 3-year.

The students carried out this program wearing black cloth over their eyes in the Sadar Road area of the city on Wednesday in the scorching heat of the sun.

The students said they want to become asset of the country by acquiring 4 years of technical education but Education Minister Dipu Moni’s unreasonable decision is trying to make them unskilled instead of becoming technically educated. They want to cancel the decision of the minister.

They also said that if the government does not fulfill their demands, they will be forced to give more stringent programs across the country.

At that time, Electronics Department student Gholam Nabi, Tawfiq, Rafatul, Nadeem Mahmud, Riazul Islam, Rabiul Islam, Roni Sheel, Sajal, Mazaber and Safiqul Islam Shafin, spoke at the programme.
