Bangladesh national women’s football team will go to Nepal for their campaign in the upcoming SAFF Women’s Championship without playing any practice matches.

The Bangladesh Football Federation tried to arrange one or two practice matches for the booters before this campaign; even they got positive responses from the UAE and Indonesia, but none of these countries finally agreed to play with Bangladesh.

“We tried our best to arrange one or two practice matches. One or two countries have positively responded, but nothing happened finally. We have to go to play SAFF without playing any practice matches,” Bangladesh Football Federation women’s wing chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron told the reporters on Tuesday.

“I don’t think we are not well-prepared. We have been taking our regular preparations. The team played two matches against Malaysia in June,” she said after the virtual meeting of the BFF committee for women’s football on this day.

Bangladesh will fly for Nepal on September 3 to participate in the competition, scheduled to be held from September 6-19.

The committee also talked about the upcoming SAFF U-15 championship and women’s league, both in November.

Kiron also informed that a total of 18 clubs made entries for participating in the upcoming women’s league, but no premier league outfits except Bashundhara Kings came forward to play in the league.
