BGMEA condoles death of industrialist MA Nabi

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has expressed profound grief over the death of MA Nabi, managing director of MTS Garments, and one of the senior members of the trade body.

Nabi passed away on Thursday while undergoing treatment at a private clinic in Chattogram.

On behalf of BGMEA, first vice-president Syed Nazrul Islam and vice-president Rakibul Alam Chowdhury expressed profound shock at his death on Friday.

In a condolence message, Syed Nazrul Islam said that late MA Nabi contributed to the prosperity of the industry as one of the successful entrepreneurs who started the export-oriented garment industry in Chattogram.

He had been playing various important roles since the inception of BGMEA activities in Chittagong region, he added.

His first funeral prayers was held on Thursday.

BGMEA vice president Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, Director Mohammad Abdus Salam, former President Fazlul Haque, former first vice-president Khalilur Rahman, former vice-presidents Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, Mohammad Ferdous and Chowdhury Salim, former directors Mohammad Musa, Liaquat Ali Chowdhury, Kofil Uddin, Ashiq Bhuiyan, Abdul Mannan Rana, Amjad Hossain Chowdhury, Salim Rahman, Saif Ullah Mansoor, Khandaker Belayet Hossain, Mohammad Atiq, Enamul Aziz Chowdhury attended his first namaz-e-janaza.
