Teen stabbed to death

A man was stabbed to death and six others were injured as an altercation broke out between two groups at Korail slum in Dhaka’s Banani on Wednesday night, police said, reports UNB.

Al-Amin (30), a grocery shop owner, was killed in a swift, bloody and merciless knife attack.

Rivals attacked Al-Amin as he went to a local mosque to pray. He suffered serious wounds after being repeatedly stabbed by them, Bacchu Miah, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost, said.

The grocery shop owner was rushed to DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries at 9:4pm. The body was sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy, Bacchu said.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old teenager was subjected to a swift, bloody and merciless knife attack in Dhaka’s Shahjahanpur on Wednesday night, police said. Md Maruf from Cumilla’s Meghna upazila worked in an automobile repair shop in the capital, reports UNB.

He suffered serious wounds after being repeatedly stabbed by unidentified attackers and left at a roadside.

It was not possible to say who delivered the fatal blows. However, all of the attackers shared a common intention that Maruf should die, or suffer very serious injuries, Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost, said.
