Bangladesh A team suffered a crushing four-wicket defeat to their West Indies counterparts during the opening 50-over match of the three-match series at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia on Tuesday.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh batters faced the wrath of the Caribbean bowlers as they were bowled out for only 80 runs in 23.2 overs.
West Indies A, in reply, reached the target, 81-6, in 23.3 overs with Tagenarine Chanderpaul making the highest 23 runs.
Mukidul Islam and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury took two wickets each for the visiting side.
The second match of the series will take place at the same venue today.
