Ctg Customs assures support to ease import-export activities

CHATTOGRAM: The newly appointed Chattogram Customs Commissioner Mohammad Fyzur Rahman said Chattogram Customs House will extend all out support to ease the activities related to the import and export.

He made the assurance when leaders of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) led by its First Vice President Syed Nazrul Islam during a courtesy call on him at his office on Tuesday.

The commissioner said the role of readymade garment industry is imperative in achieving national growth and creating employment opportunity in the country.

He also assured supports from his side for the faster delivery of the imported goods, easing export activities and addressing other existing problems through discussion and cooperation.

The First Vice President Syed Nazrul Islam said the foreign orders of the readymade garments have been increasing day by day after the corona pandemic.

But, the export cost has marked rise following the recent hike of the fuel oil prices, he said.

“Though the price of the readymade garments is not increasing, the industry owners are continuing efforts to achieve the export target,” said the BGMEA leader.

Nazrul also laid emphasis on the faster delivery of the imported goods and export activities in time during this economic crisis.

The BGMEA Vice President Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, Directors Mohammad Abdus Salam, Md Hasan, Tanvir Habib, former Directors AM Mahbub Chowdhury and Anjan Shekhar Das were present during the meeting among others.
