10 held with 13 stolen bikes in city

Police nabbed 10 alleged thieves and recovered 13 stolen motorcycles from different parts of the capital in the last two days.

Two teams of Lalbagh and Uttara Crime Divisions under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) made the arrests.

At his office on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner of Lalbagh Crime Division Jafar Hossain told reporters that they arrested seven ‘thieves’ along with 10 motorcycles on Tuesday.

The arrestees are Sohel Dhali, Sunil Das, Awal, Hridoy, Humayun, Swadhin Sardar and Rony.

On July 24, a motorcycle of National Security Intelligence (NSI) Deputy Director Rezaul Karim was stolen near Lalbagh Fort. The victim filed a case at Lalbagh Police Station in this regard.

During investigation, policemen arrested Sohel, Sunil and Awal and their information led to the arrest of the rest and recovery of the motorbikes, he said.

On the other hand, a team of Uttara police arrested three thieves and recovered three motorcycles in Dakshinkhan from Tuesday to early on Wednesday.

The arrestees are Taijul Islam alias Mugdho, Mehedi Hasan and Mohammad Kamrul.

DC of Uttara Crime Division Morshed Alam disclosed the information to reporters at his office in Uttara on Wednesday.
