U-16 team complete clean sweep in Guwahati

Bangladesh U-16 team defeated their Assam counterparts by an innings and 244 runs during the second and last three-day match and confirmed a 2-0 series victory at ACA Stadium in Guwahati on Friday.

Farhan Shahriar claimed 5-30 while Samiun Basir Ratul and Saik Emtiyaz Sihab took three and two wickets respectively as the visitors bowled the Assam team all out for 119 runs in their second innings after they resumed an overnight score of 51-6 on the final day.

Bangladesh earlier declared their first innings at 431-8 and they later bowled the hosts all out for 68 runs in their first innings to force them to play a follow-on.

Bangladesh U-16 won the opening three-day match of the series by 10 wickets.

They will now face the same opponents in a three-match one-day series with the first one taking place on August 8 while the remaining matches will take place on August 11 and 13 respectively.
