The killers of a woman have been detected a long five years after her body was recovered from a hotel at Joydebpur in Gazipur, but the ill-fated is yet to be identified.

Gazipur District Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested the criminals those involved in the murder from Mymensingh and Munshiganj districts early Wednesday.

The three arrestees are-  Ziaur Rahman alias Sumon, 45, son of Abdul Kuddus of Palohati at Gouripur in Mymensingh, Amir Hossain Fakir, 33, son of Aynal Fakir of Rauthbhog at Tongibari in Munshiganj and Kamrul Hasan Sabuj, 38, son of late Yasin Ali of Amirbari at Trishal in Mymensingh.

Superintendent of police of Gazipur District PBI Mohammad Makshuder Rahman on Wednesday told the Daily Sun police investigated the case for three years, but could not detect the criminals and unearth the mystery behind the murder.

Later, a Gazipur court ordered the PBI to investigate the case, he said.

In primary interrogation, the arrestees said they used to bring different girls to the hotel for having sex with other people. On the night of the incident, Sumon, Amir and Sabuj brought the woman to the hotel’s room No 204.  Later, the arrestees suffocated her to death as she refused to do so and informed the hotel owner Iqbal Hossain of the matter. Iqbal asked them to bury the body behind the hotel,” the police officer said.

Afterwards, they put the body stuffing to a drum at the storeroom of the hotel, and fled the scene, the officer said.

On April 19, 2018, police recovered the body of the unidentified woman aged 25-year-old from inside a drum on the ground floor of Boishakhi Residential Hotel at Hotapara in the area.

Following the incident, Sub-Inspector of Hotapara Police Outpost filed a murder case accusing unknown people with Joydebpur Police Station on April 20, in the same year.
