Dhaka Theatre will stage its much-acclaimed play Nimajjan at Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samity in the capital tomorrow.
The troupe is going to stage the 77th show of the production, marking its 50th anniversary. Written by playwright Selim Al Deen and directed by theatre personality Nasiruddin Yousuff, Nimajjan is an anti-war production.
Through dialogues, narratives and choreographies, the play moves forward to weave a chronology of genocides around the world. The play opens with a stranger, who after making a world tour, ventures to meet his ailing friend, a political science professor. During his journey, he comes across many events of genocide.
The probable cast of the play includes Mostafa Ratan, Rafiq Mohammad, Milu Chowdhury, Asaduzzaman Aman, Sirajul Islam, Samiun Jahan Dola, Rony Hossain, Sazzad Rajiv and Saidul Islam.
