CHATTOGRAM: Customs officials seized two more consignments of foreign liquor imported under false declaration at Chattogram Port on Monday.
With this, a total of five such consignments were seized by the customs authorities in the last three days.
An inventory in this regard was being made at CFS Shed of New-mooring Container Terminal of the port, he said.
Mentionable, three other consignments of foreign liquor imported with false declaration and IP fraudulence were also seized from Sonargaon area in Narayanganj and the port on Saturday and Sunday.
The Saturday’s consignments were imported in the names of Hashy Tiger Co Ltd of Cumilla EPZ and BHK Textiles Ltd of Ishwardi EPZ with declaration of textured yarn and roving machine bobbin.
In the physical examination, a total of 31,625.5 litres of liquor in 1,330 cartons were found in the two consignments. The importers attempted to dodge revenue amounting to Tk 24.70 crore through the false declaration, said the DC.
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested three persons in connection with seizure of the consignments from Narayanganj and the capital on Sunday.

One Zafar Alam was the clearing and forwarding (C&F) agent of the three consignments.
