Daily Sun correspondent wins family planning media award 2022

NILPHAMARI: Razib Hussain Razu, Nilphamari district correspondent of the Daily Sun, won the Family Planning Media Award 2022 for stories of the maternal and child health success category on Thursday.

The Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP) has declared his name in an award distri-bution programme at Family Planning Department of the capital on Thursday.

Another six winning journalists have been announced in the “World Population Day 2022” celebration programme, which organised by the Information, Education and Motivation (IEM) unit of the DGFP.

Among other winners are Dinar Sultana, senior reporter of Bangladesh Television, Mir Nasir Uddin Uajjal of Somoy TV, Sharful Alam of ATN Bangla, Mahmudul Hasan of Amar Sangbad, Tanvirul Islam of Dhaka Post and F. Shajahan, News Editor of daily Satmata.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque inaugurated the programme virtually as chief guest and also congratulated the winners.

Presided over by the Health Education Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Md Saiful Hasan Badal, Director General of (DG) of Health Department Abul Basar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Director General of (DGFP) Sahan Ara Banu and UNFPA Bangladesh representative Kristine Blokhus, among others, were also present the programme.

However, each winner have received a certificate, crest and prize money of Tk.50,000.
