National Dance Drama Festival-2022 began at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) on Wednesday.
The festival began 06:00pm with a discussion. BSA Production Department Director Sohaila Afsana Eco delivered the welcome speech at the discussion session.
Then, the dance dramas ‘Proshongo 47’ directed by Shaju Ahmed and ‘Chandalika’ by Anik Bose were staged.
The famous dance drama ‘Chandalika’ has been written by Rabindranath Tagore.
Four dramas will be staged on July 24, the second day of the festival. The dramas are ‘Hajar Bochhorer Bangali’ directed by Warda Rihab, ‘Baram Khana’ by Mahbub Hasan Shohag, ‘Rupantorer Gaan’ by Neelanjona Jui and ‘Kunjo Shajau’ by Shahida Rahman Shurovi.
The dance dramas ‘Mayar Khela’, ‘Shayama’, ‘Meher Negar’ and ‘Rangila Naier Majhi’ will be staged on July 25, the final day of the festival. Lubna Mariam, Kabirul Islam Roton, Nilufar Wahid Papri and Enamul Haque Bachchu have directed the dramas respectively.
