The first national conference and music festival of Sangeet Oikya Bangladesh concluded at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) on Saturday.
Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury graced the concluding ceremony as the chief guest while State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid attended the programme as the special guest with Sangeet Oikya Bangladesh’s Secretary General Shahid Mahmud Jangi in the chair.
The programme began with the national anthem at 07:00pm. After the discussion, local singers, including Shawkat Ali Emon, Mehreen, Dinat Jahan Munni, Joy Shahriar, Kishore, Konal, Joyita, Ronti Das, Shobhota, Haimanti, A I Raju, Yousuf, Akash Mahmud, Raju Ahmed and Apu Aman, music bands Souls and Feedback performed different genre of songs.
The event ended with a special performance by Nakib Khan, Kumar Bishwajit, Manam Ahmed and Bappa Mazumder.
Earlier, the month-long national conference began at Zilla Shilpakala Academy in Chattogram on June 17.
Sangeet Oikya Bangladesh (Music Alliance Bangladesh), a platform for lyricists, music composers and singers was started its journey on July 10 in 2021.
