Reigning Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings extended a two-year contract with their star Brazilian forward Robson Azevedo da Silva Robinho on Saturday.
The Bangladesh Football Federation Vice-president and Kings President Imrul Hassan formally signed the contract with the Brazilian star at his office in the city’s Bashundhara area.
“I talked with my parents before making a decision on a contract extension. As I will stay here for the next two years, I will bring them to this country,” he added.
Robson came to Kings from the Brazilian club Fluminense FC on loan in August, 2020. He made his debut for Kings in the Federation Cup 2020-21. Since then, Ronson has played a total of 58 matches for Kings in domestic and international competitions so far.
The Brazilian star scored a total of 51 goals for Kings and clinched two major domestic titles – Federation Cup and BPL -- in his two-year career.
The 26-year-old forward was the top scorer in BPL 2020-21 season with 21 goals. He scored 13 goals in the ongoing league so far.
Meanwhile, a Kings official said that they would extend Robson’s contract for one more year if he continued his current performance.
