StageOne Dhaka’s ‘The Odd Couple’ July 19

Theatre troupe StageOne Dhaka will stage its much-acclaimed production ‘The Odd Couple’ at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) on July 19.

The play is an adaptation of American playwright Neil Saimon’s play ‘The Odd Couple’. Dominic Gomes has directed has translated and directed the play.

The story of the play ‘The Odd Couple’ revolves around two divorced men, neurotic neat-freak Felix Ungar and fun-loving slob Oscar Madison, who decide to live together.

Felix Ungar is disciplined, organised and a cleanliness freak. He often pinches people for their mistakes while Oscar Madison is a sports journalist. He likes to lead a carefree life.  

The cast of the play includes Bappaditya Chowdhury, Jubayer Jahid, Bindu Sumon Rozario, Amitav Razib, Mahafuz Munna and Ahmed Shawon.

StageOne Dhaka is a professional theatre troupe of the country. The troupe has been active since 2007 and it presents socially and culturally relevant plays. The presentations have included indigenous writing, European classics as well as contemporary drama with particular importance being placed on bi-lingual texts.
