Death of Ctg transport worker shrouded in mystery

CHATTOGRAM: The supervisor of a bus died mysteriously in the port city on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Nurul Islam Nahid, 40, of Chairman Bari area under Chandgaon Police Station in the city.

On Wednesday evening, Nahid went out of his residence. Later, he phoned his wife and said he was going to Cox’s Bazar.

But two persons took Nahid, who was injured at that time, to his residence by CNG-run auto-rickshaw around 6:00 am on Thursday.

They claimed that Nahid sustained injuries in an accident and they all left for Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

The persons got off the auto-rickshaw in the middle of the way and Nahid’s wife took him to CMCH where doctors declared him dead, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bakolia Police Station Md Abdur Rahim. Injury marks were found on his body.

Reason for the death couldn’t be known immediately, said the OC adding that investigation was going on to unearth the cause and persons behind the incident.
