Bangladesh Test opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy will travel to West Indies with Bangladesh ‘A’ team next month, a Bangladesh Cricket Board official informed on Tuesday.
“We’ve decided to send Joy to West Indies with the A team so that he can get some matches to get back his form,” Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin told The Daily Sun.
The 21-year-old batsman could make only 65 runs during Bangladesh’s recent two-match Test series against West Indies.
Joy’s last making a fifty in a Test innings was against Sri Lanka six innings back when he scored 58 runs in Chattogram during the opening drawn Test in May.
The series between Bangladesh A and West Indies A will be played at Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia and it will feature two four-day first-class matches and three 50-over matches, scheduled from August 4 to 20.
