Barishal Football Academy emerged champions in the 28th Bashundhara Group Pioneer (U-15) Football League 2021-22 beating Zara Green Voice Kishore Bangla Club in a nail-biting tie-breaker by 4-3 goals after the final match was tied in a 3-3 draw at the Bashundhara Kings Arena of Bashundhara Sports Complex in the capital on Friday. 

Bashundhara Group, the country’s largest business conglomerate, sponsored the country’s lone age-level grassroot football competition, which is helping to find out young talents from the grassroots to form a strong pipeline for the different age-level teams and different domestic leagues.

In the day’s final, Barishal’s Shadhin Hossain, Ahsan Ullah Rakib and Md Alkafi scored one goal each in the 4th, 30th and 55th minutes of the game while Zara Green Voice’s Ahsan Islam Anhu scored twice in the 23rd, 36th minutes and Akash Islam added one in the 1st minute.

The champions were awarded Tk 3 lakh while the runners-up team received Tk 2 lakh. 

Zara Green Voice’s Akash Islam got Tk 25,000 as he was adjudged the best player of the final. 

Barishal’s Raihan Mia and Skylark FA’s Mehdi Hasan Minar were adjudged the best player of the tournament for scoring 15 goals respectively. Both Raihan and Minar received Tk 50,000 each.
