PKSF, 2 orgs reach deal to train PWDs

Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) has been implementing Skills for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP) project to ensure job placement of disadvantaged youths from 2015.

To this effect, the PKSF has signed contracts with Disabled Rehabilitation and Research Association (DRRA) and Food Cadets Lipi’s Euphoria of Culinary Arts at a ceremony on Wednesday.

Dr Md Jashim Uddin, additional managing director of PKSF, signed the agreements on behalf of PKSF.

As per the dead, the DRRA will provide skills, development training and ensure jobs for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Debhata upazila of Satkhira under Tranche-3 of SEIP project DRRA.

Besides, the PKSF signed another deal with Food Cadets Lipi’s Euphoria of Culinary Arts to impart trainings on food and beverage production and housekeeping trades to PWDs in Dhaka city.

Md Ziauddin Iqbal, senior general manager of PKSF and chief coordinator of SEIP project, Kazi Farzana Sharmin, deputy chief coordinator-SEIP and Iffat Ara, programme coordinator-SEIP, DRRA executive director Farida Yesmin, Akhtari Asaf (Swapna Reza), advisor (communication, advocacy and resource mobilisation) of DRRA, and Nafiz Islam, CEO of Food Cadets Lipi’s Euphoria, were present and signed the agreement on behalf their respective organisations.

Mentionable, the finance division of the Ministry of Finance is the executing agency of SEIP project funded by ADB.
