Gold price cut by Tk 1,166 a bhori

Bangladesh Jewellers’ Samity (BAJUS) has lowered the price of gold by Tk 1,166 to Tk 78,382 per bhori (11.664 gram).

The gold price has been cut in the domestic market as the price of the precious metal has fallen on the global market, said a BAJUS press release on Wednesday.

The price of 22-carat gold has been decreased to Tk 78,382 a bhori from Tk 79,548, according to the release signed by MA Hannan Azad, chairman of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Monitoring.

The price of 21-carat gold has come down to Tk 74,883 a bhori while that of 18-carat gold to Tk 64,152 per bhori. On the other hand, the price of traditional gold has dropped to Tk 53,479 per bhori.

The new price comes into effect in the local market from today.

The price of silver, however, remains unchanged.
