BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has tested negative for Covid-19 eight days after he was diagnosed with the respiratory disease.
The BNP spokesperson underwent the coronavirus test on Saturday and the result came back negative, party Vice-Chairman Dr AZM Zahid Hossain told newsmen.
The BNP leader may start participating in the party’s programmes from today, party sources said.
On June 25, Mirza Fakhrul caught the virus for the second time and received treatment at his Uttara residence under the supervision of medicine specialist Dr Raihan Rabbani.
Earlier on January 11, Mirza Fakhrul and his wife Rahat Ara Begum were infected with the coronavirus.
