Police thrash Muktijoddha in BPL

Bangladesh Police Football Club earned their 7th victory in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League football outplaying lowly Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 4-1 goals at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj on Wednesday.

In the day’s match, Ivorian striker Christian Kouakou and local forward Sheikh Bablu scored twice each for the Police team while Burundi forward Sudi Abdallah netted the solitary goal for the Muktijoddha.

Kouakou scored first goal for Police in the very 3rd minute (1-0) of the game while Sudi Abdallah restored the parity for Muktijoddha in the 18th minute (1-1).

Kouakou put his side ahead in the 26th minute of the match scoring his 2nd goal in the 26th minute (2-1).

Sheikh Bablu scored two successive goals in the 44th and (90+1) minutes to guide his team to a comfortable victory (4-1).

Despite the day’s victory, Police remained at 7th slot in the league table securing 25 points while Muktijoddha are in the 10th spot with 11 points, both playing 17 matches each.

On the other hand, defending champions Bashundhara Kings are currently at the top of the points table with 44 points from 17 matches while Swadhinata Krira Sangha stand at the bottom of the points standings with only 9 points from the same number of outings.
