Tigers to face Pakistan in tri-series opener in NZ

Bangladesh national men’s cricket team will face their Pakistani counterparts during the opening match of a tri-nation T20I series on October 7 in Christchurch, New Zealand prior to their ICC T20 World Cup campaign in Australia.

The Tigers will take on New Zealand on October 9 in their second match before they face the same opponents on October 12 and Pakistan on the following day in their remaining matches of the double-league format tournament. The final will be played on October 14 with all the matches scheduled at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, New Zealand Cricket confirmed on Tuesday.

Bangladesh are also expected to conduct a preparation camp in Australia ahead of the World Cup, scheduled to begin on October 16 before they will depart for New Zealand to take part in the tri-nation series.

Later, they will again travel to Australia to play their World Cup Super 12 Group 2 matches, scheduled to start on October 24 against a qualifying team from the first round at Bellerive Oval, Hobart. Meanwhile, NZC also confirmed their limited-over series against Bangladesh national women’s cricket team, consisting of three T20Is and as many ODIs.

It will be the first-ever bilateral series between the White Ferns and the Tigresses as the series will begin with the T20Is which will be played on December 2, 4 and 7 in Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown respectively.

The three ODI will take place on December 11, 14 and 18 respectively in Wellington, Napier and Hamilton.
