Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club suffered their second successive defeat in their second-leg away match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League football when they went down to Mohammedan Sporting Club by 3-1 goals at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla on Monday.
Sheikh Jamal earlier conceded a defeat by the same 1-3 goals margin to the former champions Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in their away match at the Bashundhara Sports Complex last week.
Sheikh Jamal are in the fourth spot with their previous credit of 30 points from 8 wins, 6 draws and 3 defeats while Mohammedan are in the sixth with 25 points from 6 wins, 7 draws and 4 defeats.
However, the last year’s runners-up Sheikh Jamal played a 1-1 draw with Mohammedan in their first-leg match in February. In the day’s match, Malian forward Souleymane Diabate scored twice converting spot-kicks in the 43rd and 83rd minutes while midfielder Shekh Morsalin scored one in the 35th minute for Mohammedan.
Sheikh Jamal got the consolation goal while Souleymane struck the ball into their own net in the 39th minute.
