Pran Group will use the solutions of mobile financial service – upay to disburse salaries of employees and to receive payment at retail outlets across the country.
The upay Managing Director Rezaul Hossain and Pran Group Chief Financial Officer Uzma Chowdhury signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides at a programme at a city hotel on Thursday.
At the singing function, Rezaul Hossain said the mobile financial service has been contributing to inclusion as a fundamental issue over the years.
“The practice of digital payment is increasing day by day towards a cashless society. And we will grow together with the industrial conglomerate like Pran Group,” he said.
Pran Group Chief Financial Officer Uzma Chowdhury said the company is adopting the digital transaction as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina shows a dream of Digital Bangladesh to the nation.
“We have reduced the hassle of salary disbursement significantly using the mobile banking. In this way, a new partner (upay) added to our services,” she said.
After receiving salary in their upay salary wallet, PRAN-RFL employees can cash out the money from any upay points across the country at a reduced rate.
They can also use the money in their upay account to enjoy a wide range of financial services like fund transfer, mobile recharge, utility bill payment, merchant payment, etc.
The upay, a subsidiary of United Commercial Bank, launched its operation in March 2021.
