Three members of a family, including a child, were killed and three more got injured when a microbus lost control in Nawabganj area of the capital’s Dohar on Sunday.
The accident took place around 4:30 am.
Deceased Monir Khan’s brother Rashed Khan said, “My cousin’s son-in-law Lavlu, an expatriate, came to the country from Kuwait this morning. The microbus taking us to home lost control and collided with an electric pole when it reached Dohar. Six commuters in the car were seriously injured.”
“Two were declared dead at a local hospital while Monir Khan was taken to the emergency department of DMCH in critical condition and died there,” he added.
Rashed Khan also said that Rekha Akhter, 21, her husband Lavlu, 36, and Fahima Akhter, 8, were undergoing treatment at DMCH now. He said their home Khan Bari is located in Raipura village in Dohar. DMCH police camp in-charge (inspector) Bachchu Mia said the body of the deceased Monir has been kept in DMCH morgue while bodies of other two deceased were handed over to their family members. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station, he said.
