Leaders of Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) on Friday said the organisation’s President Sayem Sobhan Anvir has taken effective measures to stop harassment of the legal gold traders.
They made the remarks while addressing an annual general meeting of the Kushtia unit of BAJUS and orientation event for the new office bearers.
“All members of the BAJUS are united under the leadership of its President Sayem Sobhan Anvir. Under his able and strong leadership, the BAJUS family is moving forward. A new chapter will be written in the gold industry under his leadership in the coming days,” he said.
BAJUS Central Committee is working towards achieving the goal and all members of the organisation will enjoy the benefits of the current efforts, he added.
Calling upon all to run business by maintaining rules and regulations through taking membership of BAJUS, Dilip urged all members and stakeholders to work for strengthening the hand of the BAJUS President for the sake of collective interest.
The programme was held at the auditorium of Kushtia Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Outgoing President of BAJUS Kushtia district unit Abdul Gani presided over the meeting while Adviser of BAJUS and Business Editor of Daily Bangladesh Pratidin Ruhul Amin Russell, BAJUS Executive Member and Member Secretary of Standing Committee on Law and Membership Ripnul Hasan, Member of Standing Committee on District Monitoring Rakibul Islam Chowdhury, among others, spoke at the meeting as the special guests.
Later, the newly elected members of the committee and the central leaders were presented with crests.
More than 100 gold traders of the district participated in the programme. Bijon Karmakar and Kamal Ahmed Karim took charge of the Kushtia district committee as president and general secretary respectively.
