‘Yellow-bellied Sea Snake’ spotted in Kuakata beach

PATUAKHALI: A poisonous snake called ‘Yellow-Bellied Sea Snake’ was spotted at Kuakata beach in the district.

Tourists spotted the snake in front of the tourism park on the east side of the beach on Wednesday night.

Patuakhali District Forest Officer Abdullah Al-Mamun said that it was first seen on the beach. However, rare species of snakes, whales and turtles have been spotted near Kuakata beach several times.

He further said that these snakes, which live in the deep sea, are rarely seen in coastal areas. It is a very venomous snake. Their antibiotics have not been made in Bangladesh yet.
